miles (2002) This series documents the moment immediately after an eight mile sea swim. The lone model is positioned on the exposed coastline at a moment of exhilaration and exhaustion, as they step from the expansive sea. A panoramic portrait format is employed, gesturing towards religious iconography and presenting these unlikely athletes as contemporary saints or heroes. |
